The 3D Design Engineer is responsible for developing the environment where our customers will use the Simulation Tools, creating an immersive and unique experience using our proprietary products and other known market software solutions for visual scenario creation. The 3D Design Engineer is part of the Software Development Team, and works in the Software Development Team demands assigned to him/her.
- Simulator Development
Creation and correction of a simulator scene based on the electronic chart data and with additional data taken into account;
Creation and correction of 3D object models (prototypes), placing them in the correct points of the scene;
Creation and correction of ship 3D models;
Search for additional source data as required;
Source data conversion to internal formats;
Creating a set of textures needed;
Assembly and testing of the simulator scene/simulator ship model.
- Assist the Lead Developer by:
Passing of ready-to-deliver simulator databases status
Preparation of quotations, specifications and fixes
Keeping update the Long term Planning for deliverables and other contract stages of a product lifecycle
Keeping internal reporting systems updated
Keeping the Lead Developer informed about non-compliances occurring in the simulator database production.
If required, participating in the meetings and seminars on the subject matter connected with the simulator database production.
Testing of the software current commercial version used for the database production and keeping the developers informed about the identified defects.
Adhere to internal company and functional policies and procedures
Improvement of own professional competency.
Interaction with hubs and end users on technical issues of the simulator database development.
What it takes:
Fluent written and spoken Portuguese and English;
University Graduation in technical field: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial design.
Attention to detail;
Written and oral communication;
Excellent project management skills;
Time management and organizational skills.
